Our Unique Workflow

Why we’re different than all the rest

At MGSL we know how to successfully complete a project, from start to finish, on time, to budget and to the highest quality standards. We achieve this through a unique workflow that we have devised, based on the following milestones.

Understanding the client’s needs

Before we embark on any project, we develop a thorough understanding of our client’s needs.

We begin by appointing a dedicated project manager who will be the main point of contact for the client throughout the duration of the project, available to answer any questions and deal with any issues that may arise.

At an initial face-to-face meeting with the client, the project manager learns more about who they are, what they do and how we can help them. Together, they define the scope of the project and talk about linguistic preferences. The project manager also advises on which of the available translation tools would be most suitable

Creating a project plan

With this clear understanding of the client’s needs in mind, our project manager devises a plan of how to approach the project. To do this, they carry out a more detailed review of the materials provided by the client, raising questions where further clarification is needed.

The project manager appoints a language lead to be responsible for all linguistic aspects of the project, ensure that the client’s requirements are met and lead the final quality assurance process.

Having characterized the work required to carry out the project, we build a highly efficient work process which takes into consideration issues such as timetabling, the format in which work is to be delivered and the tools to be used to get the job done.

Our internal engineering team is brought on board from the very start to advise on how to achieve the technical requirements of the project, such as how to incorporate an existing translation memory or how to ensure the text will fit an existing graphic format. The engineering team continues to be involved every step of the way, to make sure the technical side of the project runs smoothly.

Sourcing the right people for the job

Our project manager carefully selects a team of experts to deliver the project, from our trusted network of 1,200 sub-contractors, to make sure that we have exactly the right personnel to meet the requirements of the client, the task at hand and the key performance indicators that will define the success of the project.

Our recruitment and screening process includes both professional tests where we assess the candidate’s suitability in terms of language ability, speed and other factors, and in-depth, face-to-face interviews.

We only employ professionals who speak the target language as their mother tongue, are proficient in the relevant subject matter and have relevant references to support their experience. We regularly ask our customers for feedback so that we can make sure that our people are performing as expected.

Getting down to work

The project is carried out to the highest possible standards, with clear ongoing communication with the client along the way. It is overseen by the project manager, language lead and our engineering team.

To maximize efficiencies, ensure the highest quality and reduce costs to our clients, we employ the most up-to-date tools and software, including memoQ, Trados Studio, Alchemy Catalyst, SDLX, Idiom and Passolo

Quality assurance

Our exceptionally thorough quality assurance process covers not only the language aspect of a project, but the cosmetic and functional elements too. For example, where we are working on software or apps, we get a test script from the client that walks us through the user experience and check every single screenshot for each platform and in every language. Our translators compare the source and new language screenshots to make sure that they are linguistically and cosmetically aligned, so that you can be confident that your users will have an identical experience, wherever in the world they are located.
